Hi I'm Lexie Baer

I grew up in Nevada and Iowa. I love kids and coaching tumbling. I am currently serving a mission in Mexico! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town where I tried to participate in everything that I could. High School was jam packed with early morning seminary, student council, choir, soccer, track, and two cheer teams. I was always busy and still am today! I graduated in 2011 and went to BYU for 2 years before making the decision to go on a mission and move home. When I got home my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and I stayed put for a year so that I could be helpful at home. During this time I was a nanny for some amazing families and also taught tumbling classes out of the small gym in my town. I also enjoy sewing, scrap booking, playing the flute, and spending time with my family. My family loves to play cards together, it's our favorite thing. My parents are my biggest role models and I am extremely close with both of them. I have two little brothers, one is on a mission in Argentina currently and the other is finishing his Senior year in high school. I have a black lab named Bailey and she is the sweetest and silliest dog I know.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel of Jesus Christ and leaned on and learned from my parents and extended families testimonies as I grew up. I first started building on my own testimony at girls came when I was maybe 12. I remember baring my testimony that I knew the gospel was true and writing about it in the back of my scriptures. I have never been more sure in my life that my Heavenly Father knew who I was and loved me. Since then I have built upon that, especially when I left home for college. It was then that I knew that it was my obligation to get to meetings and made me really think about why I was doing it. The gospel is not always easy! I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be that way, so we work hard for it! We make worldly sacrifices for it and by doing these things that at one point in my life seemed hard, we are set free! As my testimony grows I don't feel burdened by stress or by guilt. I'm just happy, all the time! I know my Heavenly Father loves me and I'm grateful for the trials he has given me that I could learn the truths of the gospel!

How I live my faith

One of the things that I believe is an action upon my faith is being a friend to everyone. I never put myself in a group in high school, I was in every ones group! I try my best to radiate kindness especially to those in need. I have had some very cool experiences being an influence upon my friends without them evening knowing it just by participating in wholesome activities. All of the sudden that's what my friends wanted to do too! It steered them away from harmful things and I'm glad I could help make that happen. I try to do the same at work with inviting people to important events in my life such as my mission farewell. I sent an invite home to every single family I work with and two non member families came as well as several students that came with member families, how cool! I've had several different callings involving planning church activities, visiting and teaching those in my ward, and also being a planner for the women's organization taking notes and role during Sunday activities. Outside of church I love to share the light of the gospel by participating in fundraisers around my small community.
