Hi I'm Austin

I was born and raised in California. I'm serving our Lord and Savior in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love being outdoors. I prefer a 10 mile hike over a day spent playing video games. I was the kind of guy who always just bounced around from one thing to another, never really putting in much effort into anything. Luckily, the Atonement can fix that! Because of Christ, we can all become better people and work together to create a better world (Book of Mormon, Ether 12:4)!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it just makes sense. Living the standards of the Church and following Christ help me to find peace and joy everyday in my life! Over the years, I gained my testimony about Christ, His Church, and His teachings and commandments through trial and error(sometimes many errors). But, the hope of repentance has always kept me cheerful! Isn't it amazing that Christ's atonement allows us to be forgiven?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to help other people. That's how Christ lived his life, so it only makes sense that anyone who has faith in Him would try to live their life like that too! I live my faith by striving to follow Christ's example as closely as possible. That's why I decided to serve a mission, so that I could learn and grow to become more like my Savior.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, serving a mission is not a requirement of being a Mormon, though, as did the Savior, we do always encourage everyone to share the Gospel and strengthen the faith of those around them in whatever way they can best. Many members feel that serving a mission is the best way to do this. A mission service is typically 18-24 months, and usually served by 18-20 year old people. Many retired men and women in the church choose to serve missions as well. Show more Show less
