Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in Southern California. I am a Mom of 3 teens. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother. I have volunteered at public schools and been a PTA president. I have three teenage children. Prior to having my children, I taught high school, got my graduate degree and worked for a law firm in Washington D.C. I love reading and hiking. I love being a Mom it has been the best job ever.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church. I was taught by my parents the gospel of Jesus Christ from the very beginning. There came a time when as a teen I had to know for myself. I had to read the Book of Mormon for myself. It was not going to be enough to just believe because my family did. I started reading and finished the Book of the Mormon. It felt good. It felt right. It felt true. I have found that same feeling over and over again -- while attending church, reading the Bible, reading the Book of Mormon, helping others and praying. Sometimes I feel chills up my spine when I hear something that is true. Many, many times I have had prayers answered. I feel like I am child of God, that He loves me and that He cares about me. I never want to lose that feeling.

How I live my faith

I work with the children at church. Teaching them about Jesus Christ is so rewarding. Seeing the natural love they have for the gospel and Jesus strengthens my belief. Children just know Jesus loves them intuitively. Our family tries to live the gospel of Jesus Christ the best we can each day. We aren't perfect at it, but we are always working on it.
