Hi I'm Chloe Nicole Sumsion

I'm an optimistic, curly-haired girl. I'm a college student and a computer programmer. And I'm a Mormon through and through!

About Me

I love life! Currently I am a college student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Before college, I would've never guessed I would be programming computers, but now I can't get enough of it. What else do I love to do, you ask? Let me tell you! First off, I come from a family of five and I cannot say enough about how much I love my family! I treasure every minute we have together. I also love horseback riding in evening shadows, learning new things, woodworking, cuddling up to read a good book under a lamp's warm glow, camping in crisp canyon air, going on adventures with family and friends, playing ultimate frisbee, and jamming on the piano and guitar. One of my mottos is "Relish life as you live it!" Growing up on a small farm, I also have an innate love of all things nature. From puffy white clouds and the sweet call of a songbird to slender blades of vivid green grass, I am always in awe of the beautiful world God has blessed us with. Nature is truly an evidence to me that God exists and that He loves us deeply. No matter what hard times come around, I am grateful for this gospel and my family because they provide me with lasting happiness. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

Wow, I don't know where to begin. Being a member of this church is everything to me! I know that through my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, I can receive comfort, guidance, and forgiveness in this life and live forever with God and my family after I die. This knowledge is priceless to me and I strive to be a dedicated follower of Christ so that I can receive these blessings. Now, I'm not perfect (actually far from it), but even though I have had my doubts at times, I realize now that I've always known deep down inside me that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I cannot deny it! In the words of Alma (a prophet from the Book of Mormon), "I have all things as a testimony that these things are true; and ye also have all things as a testimony unto you that they are true; and will ye deny them?" (Alma 30:41) Yes, certainly I have all things as a testimony that God exists and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church on the earth today. Everything from the beauty and majesty of nature to the wonderful words in the Book of Mormon is a witness to me. The strength and guidance that comes from following the teachings of this gospel are invaluable to me. Whenever I am feeling down or lost as to the next step I should take, it is so wonderful to know that I can pray to a loving Heavenly Father and he can help me and direct me. My life has not always been easy, as I'm sure you can say too, but the gospel has certainly helped me endure through my trials and sorrows. I cannot imagine going through those trials without the perspective, support, and uplift that comes from living the teachings and principles of the gospel. My family has always been centered in this gospel and it has been such an incredible blessing for us as we have faced life's challenges together. I do not even want to imagine what my life would be like without this gospel. It is endlessly good and absolutely true. That's why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not just what I am, it's who I am. It directs my choices and helps me become a better person every single day. I have found that living my faith is not some big, extravagant experience...in essence, it is lots of small and simple acts that are consistent with what I know to be true. Every day, I pray to my Heavenly Father for help and guidance, I read the words of God found in the scriptures, and I try to find ways to serve others and improve myself. I have seen powerful things happen through these small and simple acts. I really enjoy attending church meetings every Sunday. These meetings are a time for me to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ through the testimonies of fellow members and through the Spirit. I also feel a mighty strength and deep comfort that comes from going to church and feeling the love God has for me. If you haven't already noticed, service is a big part of this church. I love it! We have so many opportunities to bless the lives of others; it's truly incredible! I serve others in lots of different ways, including watching out for a couple of women in our church and making sure they are doing okay both spiritually and temporally. This is what we call visiting teaching. Service is not limited to helping church members either. I have had opportunities to give Christlike service to the elderly in old-folks homes, to children in the hospital, and to neighbors and the community. I believe that serving others is one way for me to spread Christ's love wherever I go. Helping others to feel God's deep love for them is a huge part of this church.
