Hi I'm Michael K. Campbell

I live in Spokane, Washington and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a thinker. I love learning. I'm a Husband and a Father. I work with databases. I like to BBQ. And I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love learning about the truth and because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly Jesus Christ's Church - restored to the earth in these days. As a thinker I regularly re-examine my belief in 'Mormonism' on a regular basis. And while there are plenty of things I still don't know or completely understand, I know that Jesus Christ was the truly the Son of God, that He truly walked the earth, that He truly suffered and died for us, and that He really did come back to life as the ancient Apostles testified. I also know that He, and His Father, truly appeared to Joseph Smith to re-establish light and truth in our day - and to help ensure that all of God's children can make it back to him. Because I'm a Mormon I'm free. Free from superstition. Free to know that existence is just what we see and experience in this life. Free from sin and past mistakes. Free from worrying about what happens when I die. Free to learn, grow, and improve myself. Free to help others and try to bless their lives - because I know that what Jesus taught about 'losing our lives' in service to others is really true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be more like my Savior - Jesus Christ. His perfect example is an insanely tall order to follow. But he's promised that if I'm willing to try and be like him, I'll have His Spirit to guide me and help me become better and better every day. I don't always do as well as I should - but when I do, I feel His Spirit and know that it's making me a better person. I'm also guided and helped to do things that are 'bigger' or 'smarter' than I would be able to do on my own.
