Hi I'm Austin

I was born and raised in California. I play water polo and swim. I play the piano and organ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a member of the Church my whole life. I am attending college and am majoring in electrical engineering. I'm sort of a tech geek and love tinkering with old electronics. I love being outdoors and love participating in obstacle/mud runs. I'm an avid reader with the Harry Potter series being my all time favorite. Music is a huge part of my life. I play piano and sometimes play organ for Church meetings. Some of my favorite music to listen to includes alternative like The Killers or oldies like The Beatles.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. My dad has been a member his whole life, but my mom was a convert. I'm still a member because I have come to know it's true for myself. I have prayed to know and have received answers from God. Sometimes it may seem like we are alone and that there is no just or merciful God, but in reality, the opposite is true. When we have fallen to our lowest lows and the deepest abysses of despair, that is when we discover the enlightening truth that He is in actuality right next us. He is just waiting for us to become humble enough to converse with us. I love the Spirit that the Church brings me. I know that we have a Father in Heaven that loves us and wants us to return to Him. I know that this is the true, reestablished Church on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being an example to my peers. I follow my standards and do not lower them no matter the circumstance. I follow these standards because I want to follow in Christ's footsteps. Sometimes this is difficult at school, but I feel that I am blessed for my efforts to live as He did. In church, I had the calling of ward organist along with some other organists. I would accompany the congregation about twice a month on Sunday meetings. The hymns and music in meetings can invite the Spirit and set the tone of the service. Every time I play, I try to do that.
