Hi I'm James Muhlestein

I grew up in Monticello Utah, served a mission in Brazil, married my sweetheart, and taught music for 29 years.

About Me

I taught music for 29 years, worked for the Forest Service in the summers mostly in trails and wilderness for 29 years, love hiking, motorcycling, camping, fishing, hunting, and just about everything outdoors. I have friends from all over the world who visit to come ride bikes, hunt, etc. with me. It is just about a full time job! My wife and I raised 6 wonderful children who are all married and doing well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because I know that God lives, and that he loves us. I know that Jesus is the Christ, that he is the Savior of the world, and my Savior as well. Each time I read the scriptures they testify of Him, and I can feel it. I also have read the Book of Mormon many times and have had a clear testimony given to me that it is true. Because the Book of Mormon is true, I also know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. That he saw what he said he saw, and that the church he organized, and the principles he taught were truly from God. I also know that Thomas Monson is a prophet of God today, and that revelation continues unabated to the leadership of the church straight from Christ himself. The closer I live the commandments, the happier I am.

How I live my faith

My wife and I love to work in the church. She teaches three year olds, and I work with a branch of the church, and am responsible for several stake organizations. I have spent a lot of time working with scouting, and am still involved in leadership training on a district level.
