Hi I'm Lori

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest with 5 sisters and amazing parents who joined the church a few years before I was born.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6 girls, I currently have 2 nieces and 8 nephews who I love more than my own life! I love to travel and go to concerts. I love serving others and have been blessed with opportunities to serve with Choice Humanitarian, Onesight, Make it Better, Ten Thousand Villages, and other small organizations. I love being out doors and spending time with my family and friends

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because this is the best life for me. I have spent many years away from the church searching out other ways to live and I know that this is the best way to live. I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus sacrificed His life for mine and the only way I can repay Him is to give my life unto His teachings and His gospel. I know that He loves me and wants me to be happy. I know that this is the true church of God because if it wasn't, Satan wouldn't try so hard to keep me away from it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my job. I work for Deseret Industries and it is truly a blessing! I am currently a youth teacher for the 14-15 yr old girls, I've also been a Primary teacher for the 3 yr old, and Girls Camp leader for age 12-15. I have been teaching the gospel for many years to the children of our church. Teaching the youth is not much different than the 3 year olds but it challenges me to live my life more like Christ's. I know my youth watch me and look up to me, so therefore I need to live the gospel everyday and serve all that I meet. I volunteer for as many events as possible to help those in need.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

I strongly believe in the saying "When Eve was created, a piece was not taken from Adam's head to represent that she would be above him. Nor his feet that she would be beneath him. A piece was taken from his side, that she would be beside him.." I feel that as women in the church, raising a family with an eye unto the Lord holds equally as much importance as having the priesthood. The women in the church have a lot of influence over the family and that is how they lead. Women are often relied upon to teach the children, youth, and adults within the wards about the gospel. These children, youth and adults grow up and move on to lead others. Show more Show less
