Hi I'm Melinda

I have lived in Idaho, Utah, Michigan, and Virginia. I love to travel, go camping, hiking, and biking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 4 young kids, and a wife to a wonderful, handsome young man. We are a busy family, and we have a good time together! I love to spend time with my family- everything from camping and biking to cooking something tasty in the kitchen. We like to watch TV and movies together, take the dog on a walk, and go out for ice cream. When I have a little extra time, I like to cook, sometimes with a recipe, sometimes whatever is in my head! I like to make healthy food, especially if I have someone who will enjoy it with me! I also like to do crafty project with my friends or my sisters. One day I will teach them how to do stained glass projects.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up with the church and I have always gone to church every Sunday. However, I have not always been happy with life and who I was. When I recall the negative, unhappy times of my life, I realize that was when I was trying to impress the people around me. In high school and my first semester of college, I tried to make my friends think I was "cool". I was shy and so self conscious, worrying about what other people would think of me if I said something out of place or told a dumb joke. I followed most of the church rules, but I was doing it with my mind and not with my heart. When I finally found some good friends in church while I was in college, they helped me realize that I was talented, and that I didn't have to try to be somebody else. At that point, I was able to focus on truly following Heavenly Father's commandments. And now I truly love Him and Jesus Christ with all my heart, might, and soul. I believe that because I have had a good foundation, a good testimony of the Savior and the atonement, He has helped carry me through hard times after I got divorced. There were times when I was so lonely, not sure how I would make it through the day, but I became stronger because of it. Now I am married again, and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for my loving and caring husband, my wonderful first three children, and my sweet new 7 year old daughter.

How I live my faith

At church, I have been asked to help put together the activities for the women over 18 years old. It's a good thing I have good ideas from friends in church because we have been able to put together some fun nights! I like to get to know the other people in church so we can help each out when we need it. We get to know other peoples' casual side and spiritual side. We have had opportunities to help in service projects, learn new skills, and become more spiritual minded. I also believe I have grown closer to my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ because I believe I have been guided in what to do for these activities to help the sisters in church grow closer to one another and to our Savior.
