Hi I'm Julianne Sorensen

I live in Utah. I belong to a wonderful family. Two of my most favorite titles are mom and grandma. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy music. I play the piano and teach several students. I like to sing in groups and enjoy listening to beautiful music. I love being a mom and grandma. Family brings me my greatest joys. These dear ones also keep me humble and prayerful as I desire God's choicest blessings to be theirs. I love being a wife and homemaker. Striving to maintain a refuge from the world for those I love is very fulfilling to me. I also love the outdoors. Hiking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and gardening help me appreciate this beautiful world that has been created for all of us.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been the greatest blessing in my life. It blesses my life with peace and contentment. The relationship I have with my Heavenly Father gives me comfort because I know that I can get through any of life's challenges because He will never abandon me. Knowing that Christ atoned for my sins and that I can repent and be free of these burdens is a tremendous blessing. I have been married in the temple to my husband, not just for time but for all eternity. Knowing that these family relationships that mean so much to me will continue after this life into eternity gives me a reason to try my best every day to live righteously. Because the teachings of the gospel have brought me so much joy, I want to share what I know with others so they too can know of the joy I feel. Our Heavenly Father has created this earth for us. Jesus Christ came and established the church on the earth in His day. He showed us the way to live. He atoned for all of our sins and suffered for all of our griefs. Because of this, he knows how to perfectly succor us. We read about this in the Bible. After his crucifixion and the death of the apostles, over time, because of wickedness, the church was no longer on the earth. In our day God has once again restored the true church after the manner of the church that was on the earth at the time of Christ. We have a living prophet with twelve apostles. God continues to reveal his will to us today as He did in days of old. I have prayed to know that these things are true and have received my own personal witness and know that they are. The Book of Mormon has come forth in these Latter-Days. It is a companion to the Bible and is a record of the people living in the Americas. It contains the account of Christ's visitation to this part of the world after his resurrection. I know it is true and I love to read it. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

In my church, my assignment is to work with the youth. Oh how I love these youth! They are amazing young men and young women. They all have a common goal of living righteously so they can feel close to God and someday return to his presence. They are talented and have strong faith and character. I am able to help organize events such as youth summer camps, gatherings with motivational speakers, and other events to bring the youth in my area together. As we meet together we strengthen one another to overcome life's challenges. I am also privileged to be a visiting teacher. This means that at least monthly I check on two ladies in my ward to make sure they are doing well. Often we visit about a gospel topic to strengthen each other.
