Hi I'm Steven

I grew up in Calvert County, Maryland, go to Utah State University, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I began moving to Utah when I was 15 years old due to some family issues, and never really went to church starting when I was about 9. When I was 19, I decided to join the Utah Army National Guard and served in that for about a year and a half before injuring my back and getting medically discharged. After working for about 2 years in Orem, I moved up to Logan to attend Utah State University in the Electrical Engineering program and have been here since January of 2013.

Why I am a Mormon

I spent most of my time growing up (from about 9 until 22) not going to church and not having any interest in following the teachings or commandments of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I didn't serve a mission at 19, and had absolutely no desire to do so. When I came up to USU to go to school, I had a friend tell me about one of the choirs at the Institute of Religion called "Latter-day Voices". After about 2 weeks of being in that, I went to talk to the choir director about some issues I was having, particularly with the mission topic, and he advised me to talk to my bishop about it. The day I talked to him, I made the decision to serve a mission and it has completely changed my life. I leave for the MTC to go to the Germany Berlin Mission in summer 2014, and I couldn't be more excited.

How I live my faith

My big thing on living faithfully is to be real with people, and to have fun while loving and serving others. I am currently a Membership Clerk for my congregation, where my role is to keep track of move-in's and move-out's as well as the callings the members have.
