Hi I'm Dennis James Skoy

I grew up in California. I have two autistic brothers. I'm a Mormon

About Me

In high school I chose Tennis as my first sport. My friends convinced me to participate in wrestling my Sophomore year. In the middle of the season, I twisted my knee, tearing a ligament and bruising my kneecap. This eliminated my athletic career in high school. Left with nothing to do, I randomly decided to try out for our school's first musical: All Shook Up. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I continued theatre for 2 years. Productions included: Cinderella, Sleepy Hallow, Guys and Dolls, and The Wizard of Oz. This also got my into my chamber choir at my school for my junior and senior year. We won gold in San Francisco and New York. All of this would not have happened if I had not gotten injured. Thank you knee

Why I am a Mormon

Christ was the best friend he could be to everyone he met. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:12). He turned out from himself, towards the people he was helping. He placed their needs and problems above his own, losing his life for the sake of others. The only way to serve God is by serving your fellow men. Listening alone does more than anyone realizes. My favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 13. In this chapter the Apostle Paul states, "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." We are nothing without charity. If we every hope to do something in this life, we must first acquire charity. If we don't, we will fail to be what we can become: A forever family in the presence of God and his Only Begotten Son, who made it possible for us to start over again and again to live with them again. When in doubt, start with charity. Everything else will be spiritually fed and put into place

How I live my faith

My dad is the Ward Missionary Leader. therefore, I am the Ward Missionary Grunt. For over 6 months I have been driving around with the elders and getting heavily involved with missionary work in my area. I do my best to ensure everyone who comes gains fellowships and everlasting friendships to last a lifetime and to make them feel welcome each week
