Hi I'm Joshua Young

About Me

I love to play Basketball and Football. I am currently serving in the Minneapolis Minnesota Mission and its awesome! I like to be outdoors and try new activities both with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life but I had my own personal conversion story. I never had a for sure knowledge of the gospel and its truthfulness until I was done with my first semester of college. During my first semester of college I had stopped attending my church meetings and was not praying I had stopped doing the little things and was not living Gods commandments. Over time this took a toll on me I began to question what I was doing with my life where I was going I just felt an emptiness in my life that I had never felt before. I realized that this must have been because I had stopped going to church and doing the things that I needed to do, so one week about 3 months into the semester I decided to attend church again and reading began to read my scriptures and pray. This was the void that I had felt in my life and I knew that I needed to do what I had been taught my entire life in church. This gospel brings so much joy into my life and I think the main reason why I am a Mormon is because this church promises that if we live the commandments that we can live with our families for eternity. I love my family more than anything so this promise is huge to me. I have now decided to serve a mission and have been called to serve in the Minneapolis Minnesota Mission.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be a good example through my actions and words. I try to teach about my faith when the opportunity arises whether it be in person, text message, or over social media. I like to volunteer and help those who are in need and strive to live my life as Christ would have me do.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Joshua Young
Because we are commanded to be baptized we believe that everyone should have the opportunity whether it be in this life or the next to be baptized. Because God loves all of his children he has created a way that those who were not fortunate enough to hear of the gospel and be baptized. And that is through baptisms for the dead. Where two worthy members of the church baptize and are baptized for an individual who did not receive that opportunity in this life. Show more Show less
