Hi I'm Mick

I am from Utah, and started falling away at 18, just recently became active again in my early 30's. I'm a Mormon

About Me

When i was 18 i started to fall away and became an inactive member or a "jack Mormon".I served for 3 years in the U.S. Army. I left the military and came back home. I got married and had a child before I began to become an active member again. I have faced many challenges, and if am grateful to my Heavenly Father for them, and for helping me through them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the church, but I began falling away when I was around 18 years old. My wife and I were married at a reception center. A few years passed and my wife and I were preparing for our first child. I had a very strong, personal, and powerful spiritual experience happen to me, and I knew it was time for me to investigate the church and become active once again. I had always believed in our Heavenly Father and in our Savior Jesus Christ, even when I wasn't an active member. I also believed in the power of prayer and had continued to pray and ask for help and guidance from our Heavenly Father. I would pray and tell my Heavenly Father that if he would tell me where to go and what to do that I would do it. One day he took me up on my deal, and I started meeting with the missionaries and eventually became an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have now read the Book of Mormon, and I know it is true. I know that Joseph Smith knelt in prayer and that our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ appeared to him to answer his question of which church was true. I know that through Joseph Smith that the Church of Jesus Christ was again restored on the earth, and that this is the most true and complete church on the earth today. Other religions teach of Jesus Christ, and teach truths, but that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints has all of the truths. I know that a true living Prophet of God is here living on the earth. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is that true and living Prophet. I know that he receives instructions from Jesus Christ on how he is supposed to run the church and that he receives and gives us information we need to know in these latter days. I know that we can enter the temples and that we can be sealed to our families for time and all eternity. We have the ability to be with our loved ones forever. Marriage may be, " Till death do you part.", but being sealed in the temple is forever.

How I live my faith

I am an assistant ward clerk and help with our membership records. I help people get their information transferred into or out of our ward. So when people move their records can stay with the ward or branch they are in. I also have families that I home teach. Home teaching is an opportunity for me and a companion to go visit families in our ward to check and see how they are doing, if they need anything, to help people know that they are welcomed, loved, and important, as well as teaching them a short lesson to help them feel inspired and closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mick
I know that Jesus Christ is the living Son of a living God. I know that he came to this earth, that he atoned for our sins, that he was hung upon a cross and crucified to allow us to be forgiven of our sins, and be able to return to our loving Heavenly Father. I know that after 3 days he was resurrected and that his resurrection broke the bonds of death. His love and sacrifice allows us all to receive perfect immortal bodies, and if we truly repent, that we can receive all the Father has. I know that Jesus christ lives, and that he is the redeemer of my soul. I know that he is my advocate and that he returned to Heaven to prepare for us to all come home. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want us to return home to them. This is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is Christ's church restored on the earth. I not only believe in Christ, I am a witness of Christ. I am a follower of Christ, a disciple of Christ, and a representative of Jesus Christ. I know this church is true, and I know that Christ has returned his church, and that we can receive the blessings that come with the fullness of Christ's church here on this earth. I am a Christian, and I am a Mormon. Show more Show less
