Hi I'm Rachel

I love sports, spending time with family and friends, fishing, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently a Nutrition-Dietetics major at Auburn University, War Eagle! I love spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing, and boating. I like to think that I am an amateur chef, and enjoy cooking for my friends and family. I absolutely love sports, especially basketball! I enjoy serving in the church and with the missionaries.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if the book is true. Heavenly Father revealed to me through personal revelation by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is indeed true. When I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible, I feel such a sweet spirit that I know comes from Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because the gospel brings me such joy. I have never known such happiness other than when I am following the council of the prophets and striving to live the teachings of Christ. Through scripture study and prayer, I have gained a testimony that this church is the true restored church of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ and through their direction, established Christ's church on the Earth in these latter days. I know that God loves all His children, and has blessed us with modern-day prophets to help lead and guide the world through revelation. I know that this gospel blesses families, and that my family can be sealed together for eternity. This gospel means so much to me, to know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us enough to send His perfect son into the world to atone for every sin, every sickness, and every pain, so that we would never have to go through this life alone. That Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that through Him we are able to repent and be forgiven of our sins so that we might be able to return to live with our Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a missionary in my church, where I share the message of the gospel with those in the community. Our church is very involved in serving in the local community and works with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity. Service is a wonderful way for me to fellowship with others and share the sweet message of the gospel of Jesus Christ with those in the community. I also serve as a member of an institute, or bible study, council, where we coordinate activities and dinners for classes and religious broadcasts. I also coordinate a bible study on the college campus, where we invite students to study more about Christ and His gospel.

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in our Savior Jesus Christ, to not only believe that He is the son of God, who atoned for the sins of the world and was resurrected, but to trust that He loves us. We must have faith in His teachings, which does not just mean to believe in them, but to act on them as well. When we follow the teachings of Christ, we keep His commandments, and live our lives by His example. Not only should we have faith in Christ, but we should have faith in ourselves. We should trust that we can live like Christ, and that although we are not perfect, that we can repent of our sins. We should have faith that Christ has provided a way for us to be forgiven and return to live with our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
