Hi I'm Austin Smith

I am a proud Texan, a type 1 diabetic, I love everything nerdy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent High School graduate from this small town in Texas called Kaufman. My studies and extra curricular activities kept me busy. I played Varsity football, ran track, participated in choir and scouts. One of my proudest accomplishments is graduating in the top 10% of my class. This is a BIG DEAL since I had a hard time earlier in high school when I found out I had Type 1 Diabetes. I felt sick all the time and couldn't find the strength or energy to do everything. My grades started to slip and I didn't really know what to do. After awhile I turned to God and asked for his help and that has made a world of difference in my life. I am now as healthy as can be and I'm trying to serve our God and my fellow man as the best I can now.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is Mormon! My dad converted to the church when I was little and my mom is a life-long member. I know that the church teaches the true Gospel that was lost to the world after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the death of his disciples. I testify of the power of the Priesthood in its ability to do the will of the Lord and complete his work. I know that I will have the help of God and his son, Jesus Christ's, atonement in all of the afflictions that the adversary may throw my way. I know that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ and that Joseph Smith, Jr. restored the Gospel to the Earth.

How I live my faith

Right now I am on my mission in North Carolina, Raleigh. I am excited! I have been called to serve a Spanish-speaking mission which means I have the opportunity to learn Spanish and use it for two years. As a missionary I spend all my time trying to find and teach people to come unto Christ. I help people see the hand of God in their lives and try to help them receive blessings in this life and in the world to come by helping them reach their full spiritual potential.
