Hi I'm Dave

I grew up in the SF Bay Area, I love my wife, children and grandchildren, I love to play my guitar, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My mother and father were baptized members of the church when I has just over a year old. Both my parents were Catholic and were seeking something more in regard to religion. Most of my extended family are not members of the church, but they are wonderful people and I love them. I had the great experience to baptize and marry my high school sweetheart. She is the only member of the church in her family. My wife has grown in the gospel so very much, and she is strength to me and an example to her family and friends. I spent many years working in construction building elevators. It is a wonderful trade that has been a great experience for me. I love to play my guitar and sing. I enjoy 1950's - 1960's early rock and roll music, and never have enough time to get together with my friends to play in our garage band.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up as a member of the church, I really gained my conversion in high school as I was introducing my girlfriend (and future wife) to the gospel. Her honest and open questions to me made me think of what it was I believed. In helping her find answers to her questions, I solidified for myself a testimony of the gospel and of the things that we discussed. I have had the Holy Ghost impress upon me the truthfulness of the church. The impressions being so strong that I could never deny what I have felt. I know that life goes on after our mortal experience on earth, and that we can be together as families for all eternity.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by being true to who I am. I believe in being fair and honest in all that I do. I try to treat others fairly and as I would like to be treated. My co-workers somehow seem to know that I am a Mormon without me ever mentioning it, and that is really great! I have had many opportunities to serve in church callings. I have served as a teacher, as a scoutmaster, in leadership, and most recently with my wife as a missionary couple conducting a church sponsored 12 step program. Serving in a 12 step program has enhanced my life, as I have applied to principles of the program to my life, and turning my life over to our Savior Jesus Christ.
