Hi I'm Nikelle

I'm studying speech pathology. I love to read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying to become a speech therapist because I love children and I want to help them. I was involved in a lot of theatre when I was younger, and I developed a fascination with the voice. I now have the opportunity to understand how speech works and learn how it develops. I plan to go on to get a Master's degree so I can work in elementary schools. I also love to read and write, and have ever since I was little. When my little sister was still reading picture books, I told her, "Oh, it is so much better when you make the pictures in your mind." I still believe there's nothing like curling up in a good chair with a blanket, a good book, and food.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and am able to feel the difference it makes when I follow its teachings. I have gone through times when my life wasn't completely in line with the gospel and things just feel a little off. When I am keeping the commandments and staying close to the Lord throughout my week, I feel a sense of rightness and peace that helps me to know this is true. That feeling is the Holy Ghost as it comforts me and testifies to me.

How I live my faith

I attend church each week and conduct the music during our Sacrament Meeting, when everyone gathers together. During the week, I spend time studying my scriptures so I can grow closer to my Savior and understand His will better. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Houston, Texas speaking Spanish. I can't wait to dedicate my time to helping others find this church.
