Hi I'm Chelsea

I grew up on a farm in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of four girls. I grew up in a small town in Utah. I lived there most of my life, but bounced around from school to school. I grew up in the 4-H program. I have been attending college in southern Utah. I am currently preparing for a mission in Helsinki, Finland. I love to bake, sing, read and laugh. I hope to teach elementary school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. But that is not why I love and stay true to this gospel. Because of this church is the only church on this Earth that has the full truth like Christ's church did when He was on this Earth. Bold statement I know. But the authority of the priesthood has been handed down to each member by someone who worthily held it before. I have felt it in my own life as my father and grandfathers have laid their hands on my head to bless me. I have prayed, pondered and searched the scriptures, both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. They testify of each other. They work hand in hand. I love this gospel, this good news of Jesus Christ. I love knowing that I will have my family forever because of the covenants we have made with God. I have loved and lost many family members, and I know I will see them again in the next life. This gospel makes me a better person. It helps me know who I am and that my Father in Heaven loves me even when I make mistakes.

How I live my faith

I am a optimistic, happy person. Nothing makes me happier than to make other people happy. And that is what this gospel and Christ are all about, charity, love, and service. One of my favorite things to do is going to the long term care center in my home town and practicing piano. The people there enjoy it even if I mess up. They are just happy someone is there, and it makes me happy to see them happy. Smiling at someone, holding a door open, being a friend to everyone and offering a cheerful good morning to anyone can make all the difference not only to others but they make a difference in my life. And they will make a difference in yours.

Are Mormons Christians?

Chelsea
Yes! Mormon is not our actual name. The church known as the "Mormon" or "LDS" church is actually officially called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We believe in Christ in his ministry and work. He is our Savior. We believe Christ leads and guides this church through inspiration and revelation. He is the center of our religion. We worship and pray in His name. We believe through His atoning sacrifice we can repent and return back to His presence and the presence of our Father in Heaven who sent Him and loves us.
