Hi I'm Helaman

I grew up in Texas. I like Martial arts, drawing, League of Legends,Video games, and singing.

About Me

I first started going to fencing around 8th grade. I was never into anything vaguely athletic before then, mostly because I was a guy who just read alot and got bullied. Fencing helped me realize i could do more than speed read. I started drawing more seriously, started singing, talked with other people who were in martial arts. I picked a couple more hobbies up as i went on, but these 3 I think changed me the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church but that's not why I am a Mormon. I truly believe, for myself, that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet, and the Book of Mormon is true. There is our Heavenly Father and he loves us, all of us. I testify of family, and that you can't do better than a faithful marriage of a man and a woman, where they love all their children equally, and they love each other. It takes two, who see the world from their own view. I pray for all the children who have no parents, that they may find some. I'm a Mormon, a Latter-day Saint, and a disciple of Jesus Christ because that's the right thing to be.

How I live my faith

When I play LOL (The next won't be for a while, I'm serving on a mission) I keep a positive attitude, and don't criticize or bash my teammates or my opponents, and try to compliment when it's due, keep my language clean, though mostly i don't have that time to type.I Keep the Sabbath day holy, and don't do sports or other physical activities on Sunday. Since most fencing tournaments are on Sunday, this was part of the reason i didn't make it far. The other part was my Mom wouldn't pay for the expensive ones. I love doing service, and help people out. I've been called as ateacher, which as the youngest member of the class was intimidating, but i learned alot(And hopefully, so did my class.)

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Helaman
That depends on the woman doesn't it? It's terribly sexsist to assume every female member of the church is identical. However! We believe that woman have a divine role as a mother. I am eternally grateful for the sacrifices and care she has done for me and my 5 siblings. She wanted 8 kids, but had to stop at 6. She is one of the strongest people i know, emotionally, as well as physical to a point she carried my then 9 year old 70 pound handicapped brother down 22 flights of stairs. Show more Show less
