Hi I'm Sid

I enjoy the simple things in life yet appreciate the complex and beautiful world we live in. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm with my three brothers and two sisters in a little town in sothern Idaho. We didn't have much, and our best friends were each other. There i learned to appreciate what a strong family and hard work can do to strengthen me, and give me a good foundation for life. When I was 12 I moved with my family to Bigfork, Montana. There I learned how beautiful this world is, how my favorite color is the color of crystal clear lake, and how my favorite sound is the silence of the forest. Growing up I enjoyed water sports, skiing, and one of my most favorite hobbies is hard work. I grew up cleaning up our neglected property everyday after school. At first it was just painful work, but later when I saw the same vision my father saw in the potential that was there it became a joy. I served a church mission in Provo, Utah and there I learned to have a greater compassion for humanity, and that if given the chance, people will be there to support you and others. I am now going to college where I am studying healthcare administration. I chose that career because I want to serve people. When someone is in pain and is suffering I want to be able to be there to ensure they are taken care of and can find peace and comfort.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it to be true. I don't see myself as better than any other christian out there, we are all in search of something better in this life, we are all in debt to our Savior. I do believe that this is Christ's church. I believe this because of what it has done for me. The gospel has given me a loving, strong family. It has given me direction so that I won't fall, and has given me peace as I have searched for forgiveness as I have fallen. I have seen it heal hearts, have seen it ease minds, and yes, even heal physical infirmities. I have felt the spirit of god as I sat entered the waters of baptism, and have felt that same spirit in the Temples. I have heard his voice in my heart pulling me to do the right thing, pulling me back to him. It is in the doctrines taught in the Bible as well as those taught in the Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because I truly believe it is His church, not of this earth, but that of heaven.

How I live my faith

I am a firm believer that the depth of our faith is measured by our desire to serve others. Christ is my ultimate example of one who wholeheartedly served. He has atoned for my many sins, he has felt my pain, my joy, and my sorrow. He has died so that I might live. In giving his life I am in debt to him, and in order even attempt at repaying that great service, I too must serve. He has told me how when he said that when I am in the service of others, I am in the service of God. From my childhood I learned to serve, and to have compassion on others. This service is given in many ways. It is in the smile to whose who are down, it is holding the hand of one who has had to let go of a loved one, it is in the giving of your time and talents to helping make someone's life easier, it is in your heart, in your thoughts, but most importantly in your actions.
