Hi I'm Sam

I'm a missionary, an Okie, a soccer player, a music lover, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the world's greatest mission, the Idaho Pocatello mission! Before my mission, I completed 3 semesters at BYU (Provo), and I loved it there. My family is the most important thing in my life other than my relationship with God and Jesus Christ. I LOVE the outdoors, any kind of sports, and pretending like I know how to dance when no one is looking. I also love to read, travel, and try new things. Especially food. If I could eat for a living, I'd be filthy rich. The thing that brings me the most happiness out of all of these is the knowledge that I am a child of God. Knowing that is true peace and freedom. As I work to strengthen my relationship with our Father in Heaven, I am able to find more peace and joy. The best part of being a missionary is the opportunity I have to watch that happen in other people. Every single person is a child of God, and as His children, everyone has the right to feel of His love. As a missionary, my purpose is to help others come to this knowledge. It's the best decision I have ever made! I know that the Lord is helping me become the person He needs me to be in order to share His gospel with His other children and invite them to come unto Him. The knowledge it brings has blessed my life in ways I can't even express!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love my Savior, and because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have read and prayed about it many times, and have received a witness from the Holy Ghost of its truthfulness. This book helps me grow a stronger relationship with my Savior as I read it alongside the Bible. It provides answers to my questions, strengthens my faith, and brings me great joy and peace. Because I know the Book of Mormon is true, then it follows that Joseph Smith was a prophet and truly translated it through the power of God, and that Christ's church was established through that same power, also known as the priesthood. While there is truth to every religion, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on the earth that has that priesthood power. I'm a Mormon because I know that God lives and He loves us, and he has given us the Book of Mormon and a modern prophet to lead and guide us through this crazy life we live.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing with others the love that Christ has for them. Everything that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have done for us is because of the love they have for us. The best way I have found to live my faith is to be a missionary. Every single day, I wake up with the sole purpose of glorifying my God and inviting others to do the same. Missionary work is service, and service is love. LOVE is the essence of the gospel.
