Hi I'm Kyler

I grew up in Wyoming, USA. I am in the school band and a member of the swim team at my school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For as long as I can remember I have loved the water. I used to beg my parents to take me and my siblings to the swimming pool or down to the river and lake that are close to the city where I live. This love of the water naturally lead me to the sport of competitive swimming. I have been swimming competitively since third grade and I just love the spirit of competition and camaraderie that is present at swim meets and the bond you form with team mates. Swimming has also taught me a lot about the importance of hard work and dedication and this is a knowledge that I have been able to apply to many aspects of my life. I also am a member of the school band. Once I started band I quickly found that I loved it. I have been doing it since 6th grade. I especially love marching band. I love playing at football games and in parades. I even had the opportunity to be the Drum Major for my high school band two years in a row. Also living in Wyoming I love to be outside in God's creation. I especially love being out on the rivers and lakes close to my home and in the mountains away from the busyness of life. Being outside makes evident, for me, the love the our Heavenly Father has for us His children.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I was a member of the church I wasn't sad or depressed, however I wasn't happy either. I didn't have direction in my life and wasn't sure as to what I should do. I was essentially floating throw life, going threw the motions. Then I had some good friends who were Mormons and they started inviting me to church activities here and there, not really anything spiritual but those activities that allow you to get to know people and just have fun. Then my friends invited me to a youth conference and at this conference there where speakers that spoke on different topics relating to faith in Jesus Christ and other gospel related topics. I do not remember what was spoken by those speaker but I do remember the spirit I felt and it was at that moment that I began to realize that there was more to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint then just fun activities. However it took me around three years after that youth conference for me to baptized. I guess you can say I was stubborn, however it all worked out and I am now a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I am so thankful for my membership in this Church. This Church has given me direction in my life and opportunities to help other who, like myself, are just going throw the motions of life. My life has forever been changed because of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I will forever cleave unto it.

How I live my faith

In the Church I am a Ward Missionary. I often work alongside other ward missionaries or full time missionaries to help teach and fellowship those who live within my ward boundaries who are either learning of the Church for the first time or have become less active in the Church. This is a calling that has helped me so much and it has also prepared me for the full-time mission I will begin to serve in just a few month. I was called to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico Tampico mission. I am really excited and anxious to serve this mission. I don't hardly speak any Spanish so I will have to learn as much as I can before the mission and early in the mission. I am just so thankful that I have the opportunity to serve the people of Mexico and the Lord himself by sharing the glad message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
