Hi I'm Nathan Householder

I am a survivor. I am a missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born with a heart defect. Four days after birth I turned blue and was life-flighted to a bigger hospital for operation. In the hospital I was given a blessing that included the statement that I would lead a long life of service. They said I had "TAPVR" and operated an open heart surgery. The odds of me living were slim - most of the previous patients didn't survive more than three months past operation. But I did. They told me I wouldn't live past a couple years. But I did. They said I may not live past my teens if the procedure didn't hold through my years of fast growth. But here I am. From a young age I was taught to have a great love of service. My father would take me to pick trash up of the side of the road, help others move, donate to the less fortunate, and many more things. My older brother would take me to rake neighbor's leaves in the night so when they woke, there would only be large bags sitting near the tree. I love lifting others when I can. In Boy Scouts I earned each of the ranks and eventually became an Eagle. I've played tennis off and on since I was seven. I love to sing more than anything and anyone in ear distance could confirm. I have an amazing family - I'm the second oldest of 7 kids. My family is the most important thing in my life. I have great friends that encourage me to be a good person and I love spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior and our Father in Heaven. As I have been a part of this gospel (church) I have been able to connect with people in such a spiritual way. They truly are my brothers and sisters. They are family. I love how I could go to any part of the world where this gospel is and still feel at home with family - because of mutual belief and love of God. Through this gospel I have also been able to look at my trials (hardships in life) differently. I've been able to see the good that has come out of difficult times. This has helped me in an interesting way look forward to trials because I know something good follows! I love the unity I find in the church and the service minded efforts. I know my Father in Heaven has a plan for me, and all I have to do is follow it!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission of service from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Texas Fort Worth area. I help others come unto Christ by teaching them the Gospel of Jesus Christ and inviting them to learn more about what God would have them do to improve their lives. I also do service for others where I can. In summary: I show God and Christ's love for others by showing my love for them as well.
