Hi I'm McKay

I grew up in Idaho. I love running! I am serving a mission in Toronto, Canada and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I enjoy fishing, camping, running, throwing, mechanics, and best of all spending time with my family and friends. I have a family of 7 other siblings, I am the middle child, they are the best family ever! I graduated high school and and am currently on a mission in Toronto, Canada, and I love it here in Canada! My plans after my mission are to go to Utah State and become a mechanical engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are a Mormons, and they taught me about the church. When I turned 8 they talked to me about Baptism and they let me make the decision to be Baptized as a member of the Church. I continued to learn and as I grew into my late teens, I began to really read the Book of Mormon and I asked God if it is true. I know by the feelings of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that everyone that puts forth effort and with sincerity prays about the Book of Mormon can come to know that it is true. God hears and answers everyone's prayers. I know that through Jesus Christ we can be forgiven and we can feel the happiness that comes form the peace he gives us. I know that Jesus Christ loves each one of us. I know that the Book of Mormon has helped me to learn and come closer to Jesus Christ. I love feeling the Joy that sharing Jesus Christ's gospel brings into my life. I love Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

Some ways I live my Faith are by praying everyday, and reading the scriptures. I work on applying the things that I learned from my study to my life! Reading and studying the scriptures really does increase our Faith in Jesus Christ. I keep the Sabbath day Holy by going to Church and also by doing the activities that are pleasing to God on Sunday. I love looking for ways that I can serve other people and help their day to go better.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

McKay
We are Baptized and we invite all to be Baptized because we want to follow the example of Jesus Christ. We also know that through Baptism we can feel we are washed clean from sins. We know that being washed clean of our sins or mistakes helps us to feel at peace with ourselves and with God. I have felt that peace in my life. Baptism has to be done by the priesthood authority of God, which if you have questions about that you can find more answers about that in the sections about Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
