Hi I'm Jim

I grew up and live in So. California and was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, when I was16 years old.

About Me

I retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. after 31 years and have enjoyed being retired for 13 years. I have been married to my sweetheart for 45 yrs. and we have 3 sons and 20 grandchildren. My hobbies include racing boats, and trying to remember birthdays for 20 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have lived the gospel, everyday I learn something new about it and about our Heavenly Father and how much he loves us. I have had the opportunity to talk with and be taught on a one to one basis with 2 Apostles, (Elder Ballard and Elder Anderson of the Twelve Apostles of the Church). The opportunity to listen to live prophets and speak to living Apostles is indescribable. Having read the Bible, book of Mormon and The Doctrine and Covenants, and the realization that I read what prophets and apostles wrote years ago and then be able to converse persernally with 2 Later Day Apostles testifies to my spirit of the grand plan of salvation and the love that our Savior and Redeemer and our Father in heaven have for us is mind bogling. I feel very blessed to live at this time and the opportunities to serve my brothers and sisters.

How I live my faith

I enjoy my present calling in my ward. I am the Bishop of the ward and receive immense satisfaction from serving my members, from the oldest to the youngest. The youth are challenging and rewarding to work with. I love the calling and love my boss. (The Lord Jesus Christ)
