Hi I'm Allie Slater

I'm a missionary, a food junkie, and a Mormon.

About Me

I love being in the Great Ohio Columbus Mission. I love serving my Lord. I am the youngest of two! Just me and my sister:) I love make-up, and helping others feel beautiful. I have a license in Master Esthetics and I plan to pursue a career with it. I LOVE FOOD! I love trying new foods. Eating is life. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed enough to be born into this amazing gospel. But, being born into the church does not mean you have to be apart of it. When I was young I relied on my parents testimonies, I believed what they believed because they are my parents, they are everything to me. The older I got though, the less I could rely on what they believed and I had to figure it out for myself, I had to be converted to the gospel for myself. I have fully been converted to this gospel. It makes me so happy. I feel like that is why I love being apart of this gospel, the true happiness it brings. It teaches only true meanings of joy. For example, families can be together forever. Who wouldn't want that in their life? Or the atonement. Our brother Jesus loved us so much he came to earth and suffered for our sins. The atonement teaches us that we can always come back to our Father in Heaven. He wants us to come back to him, and he is always going to forgive us. We have a purpose in this life. I am young, but I am so blessed to know exactly what my purpose is. If we strive to live the way we are taught, we will make it back to our Heavenly Father, and he is waiting for us with open arms. Whenever you feel alone he is always there, always. And knowing that, brings me true joy. I love this gospel so much and would not trade it for the world! Just always remember this, you, me, everyone. We are all children of God, and our Father loves us more than we could ever know.

How I live my faith

Like I said above, I am serving in the Ohio Columbus mission, I as well served as Laurel president in my young women's for a few years in my ward. I loved it so much. It was a blessing in my life. The younger girls looked up to me a lot, but the truth is I looked up to them. They taught me so much about the gospel, and helped me to want to strive to be a better person everyday. In the young women's theme it states, "We are daughters of our Heavenly Father who loves us and we love him. We will a stand as witnesses of God at all times, and in all things, and in all places." We stand and say the theme every week in young women's and it gives me a constant reminder for the week to stand as a witness of God, and to stand for what I believe in. In my daily life I always remember that I am a child of my Father in Heaven, and I want to do and live the way he wants me to. If we strive to live this way we can, and will be blessed and just all around be happier!:)
