Hi I'm Ted

I grew up in the midwestern United States. I train actors to sword fight and do stunt work. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in theatre and on camera and I train actors and direct productions. The majority of my professional work comes from Fight Direction on stage, and I have been able to work with wonderful people around the world as well as with shows on Broadway. I also run several drama-based summer camps for kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I have experienced much of the good and also much of the not-so-good of being a Mormon. I have encountered plenty of reasons to not live true to my faith, but I still choose to. I have had, and continue to have, strong and positive feelings about the Book of Mormon as a second witness to the Bible of Jesus Christ's divinity. He is my Savior - I believe that; I feel it is the truth. I believe that keeping the commandments and following the modern-day prophet leads a person to happiness. I know some of the unhappiness that comes from not doing those things and am grateful to be on the other side of those experiences. I know that God is our Father and that He has provided us with a way to come home to Him. That "way" is living the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend my weekly meetings and volunteer for projects that our leaders ask for help with. I sometimes give talks in church and visit members of the church in their homes to share gospel messages or to help out with projects. I especially enjoy projects involving house or yard work ~ I believe that home can be a bit of heaven and sometimes that can be as simple as pruning trees or a new paint job.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity in essence says that sexual relations are reserved for a man and a woman who are legally married. That can be tough for a lot of people - I know it is a challenge for those of us who are not married, and often we are told that it doesn't make any sense. Society asks us to be open, accepting and tolerant; and those are all good things to be! There is a line, however, a divine line that we are asked not to cross. That line is the Law of Chastity. For some that means not living with someone before marriage, even though that often seems like a natural "next step." For others it has meant denying themselves of things that seem like they would bring pleasure but in reality are the side roads that lead further from the joy and safety that come from keeping the commandments.
