Hi I'm Abbey!

I was born and raised in Utah. I love playing soccer, running and hiking. And I am a Mormon. :)

About Me

I love sports and spending time in the outdoors! Whether it is hiking, camping, rock climbing, gardening or just going on a nice walk! I absolutely LOVE ice cream...especially if peanut butter is also involved, I could not live without it. I am in college and I am currently majoring in Early Childhood Special Education. I actually love school - not only for the fun, social environment, but also because I love learning new things! I am taking an 18 month break from school to serve a mission in Korea for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love my family very much and I am so very grateful that I have the blessing and privilege to spend eternity with them!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the church, that is not WHY I am a Mormon. I was given the choice, when I was 8, to be baptized. I chose for myself to make that covenant. Ever since then, life has presented me with choices and temptations and trials of all sorts. There have been many times when I have had to make the decision whether or not to choose the right and follow the teachings of the church. Through all of these experiences, good and bad, I have come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I have seen the sorrow and heartache that comes from not living the gospel, and I have also seen the joy and blessings that DO come from living the gospel! That may include using the Atonement to repent of our sins and be forgiven, the comfort, guidance and protection of the Holy Ghost, knowing that our families can be together forever through the sacred covenants that we make in the temple, and so much more! The gospel brings so much peace and happiness into my life! It gives it meaning, and direction. I know that this church is true, and it was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith, who also translated the Book of Mormon, which I know to be the word of God. I know that God loves ALL of His children, and that He has provided a way for us to get back to Him. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins, and that through His atonement, we are saved. I know that Jesus Christ died for you and for me and that because of Him, we will be able to live with our Father in Heaven once more.

How I live my faith

I love getting involved in my ward, wherever I may be. I have found that by getting to know the other members of the ward, it creates a special love and support for each other that can strengthen us in times of need. Before my mission I also liked to go out with the missionaries in my area. I firmly believe that it brought such a strong spirit into my life, and also provided me with the opportunity to share that spirit along with the other joys of the Gospel with more of God's children. I strive everyday to keep the covenants that I have made with my Heavenly Father, and communicate with Him through prayer and scripture study. I have chosen to serve as a missionary for the church and have now been presented with the incredible opportunity to dedicate this time of my life in service to God and His children.
