Hi I'm Damon

I grew up with a love for sports, especially baseball and cross-country. I enjoy being with friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Northern California, where I have had many great experiences. I have one younger sister and no brothers. I have made many close friends growing up. I am highly involved in school sports; namely, cross country, basketball, baseball and track. Besides sports, I am have been involved in a number of school clubs and activities. I have interests in political science and ancient Central and South American civilizations. I enjoy learning and gaining new knowledge as well as taking leadership roles. I have been accepted to and will be attending Brigham Young University, Provo.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and my parent were born members; however that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because, over my years growing up in the church I have come to my own knowledge of the truthfulness our church teaches. I tested it out for myself. I have learned to seek out and make my own opinions. The test that I put myself to was to try and align my will to Heavenly Father's will. As I did this, I began to see the plan unfold that our Father in Heaven has for us, and more specifically, the plan that he has for me. It gave me comfort to know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me, even if I don't know exactly what it is at a given moment in time. Throughout my life Heaven Father has helped and guided me through tough times and has guided me in decision making. I am so thankful I can trust in Him and always look to him for aid in whatever need I have. I know that His plan will lead us back to Him someday. I also know that God is the same yesterday, today and forever; therefore his will does not change and so we must obey His words and Commandments. I am thankful for the knowledge I have that Heavenly Father has installed a living prophet on the earth today to help guide and counsel us as well. I know I will live with Heavenly Father again someday.

How I live my faith

I attend and participate in church services every Sunday. Once a month I teach a class for new members and people who are investigating our church. I just recently finished being a youth representative for our area. As a youth representative I attended meetings where we would plan activities for other youth in the area. Outside of church, I live my faith by trying to be an example of Christ and help others. Every weekday morning I attend an early morning seminary class where we study the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Every Night I pray with my family.
