Hi I'm Emma

I am native to Moses Lake, Washington. I love learning, dancing, exploring, and playing piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old and just completed my freshman year at BYU. Soon, I'm heading out on a mission to the Arkansas Little Rock mission. I will be speaking Spanish and report to the Mexico MTC on June 11th and keep getting more excited to arrive. I love dancing. During my life, I've tried out and loved many kinds of dance: clogging, jazz, hip hop, ballet, and my current favorite: zumba. I was on the high school drill team for 4 years which was a positive experience overall. I also took piano lessons for 11 years which fed my love for classical music and the piano guys. I like being active and outdoors. Recently, I went on my first canyoning trip, and I loved it. I'm always up to trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

Being "Mormon" brings me the greatest joy I have ever experienced. When I have bad days or weeks, the greatest relief always comes through turning to Jesus Christ and seeking his help. I know I'm not even close to perfect, but living the gospel brings me hope that through the grace of Jesus Christ, I can someday become whole and perfected. As I've lived the gospel and kept the commandments to the greatest capacity that I could, I have overcome weaknesses that I could never overcome on my own. I know that God loves his children and that includes everyone will ever live on the earth. It is through Jesus Christ that we can receive peace of mind and grow through our trials.

How I live my faith

I've grown up in the LDS faith, and doing so has brought me great joy. I go to church every Sunday to learn and to teach others. I've recently had multiple opportunities to teach the gospel to girls that are my age. It has brought me great joy to hear their insights. Every day, I take time to read, study, and ponder the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. My love for the prophets of old and for the stories in the scriptures continues to increase through my scripture study. I find great peace from praying often. When I pray, I feel love and know that I have a Father in Heaven who listens to my sincere prayers. Daily, I can recognize the blessings and answers to prayer that I receive. Sometimes, the answers to my prayers are small, but they all are witnesses to the love that God has for his children.
