Hi I'm Brian Pratt

I'm a doctor, a dad, and gun enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four children. I grew up in a very poor family in Utah. Since we had very little money we spend most of our time being very creative and playing outdoors. I went to Weber State University in Ogden, Utah and graduated with a bachelors in zoology and dual minors in chemistry and Portuguese. Between those years I served a mission in a Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After my mission, but still during college, I found and fell in love with my wife, Candice. Our lives together have been a nonstop adventure! Together we had four children, went to medical school, graduated then went to residency. My free time is spent with my family, target shooting, playing video games with my kids, and playing on my iPad.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born in the church, there came a time when I couldn't live on just the things my parents believed. I took to studying the Scriptures and praying with all my heart. Only after doing my part did the answers come. There is nothing that brings greater happiness in my life than striving to live the teachings of Jesus Christ. Living a Christ-like life simply makes me a better person. Obeying Christ's commandments keeps me safe. I love knowing that God is the same today as He was in Bible times. He continues to speak today through a living prophet. As I studied the Scriptures, I can feel the spirit of the Lord speaking to my spirit those things that help guide me through life.

How I live my faith

This is the only true church of Jesus Christ with the fullness of his gospel and priesthood on the Earth—a bold statement, but I have gained a testimony from God that these things are real through prayer and faithful service to his children - my brothers and sisters here on earth. That's the true meaning of being a Christian: living up to the example that Christ showed through the Scriptures by serving others. It may not always be easy, in fact sometimes it can be really hard, but if you put your whole heart into it it's always worth it. It wasn't easy for Christ to be sacrificed for my sins, but he did it, and although I will never be asked to sacrifice is much as he did, I need to look for opportunities to do my best to be as he was.
