Hi I'm Scott

I love my Savior, my family and sports. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

About Me

Throughout my life I've learned, "If at first you don't succeed, pray, and try again." I share this statement in the beginning because HOPE for a better and happier life, obtained through prayer, and trust in the Lord has carried me from childhood until now. I'm happily married with three children. My oldest is serving a 2 year mission and my two youngest are here at home. My wife, who patiently endures my sense of humor, is a beautiful angel who has stood by me side for many years. I love spending time with my wife, children and friends. Truly these are the greatest treasures of my life! I grew up loving sports of all kinds: Track, wresting, arm wrestling, etc. In fact, years ago, I was blessed to have the opportunity to practice with some of the best arm wrestlers in the world who also live in Utah. Through their guidance and training, I did quite well. My joints and arthritis have not allowed me to stay on top of this wonderful sport, but I love staying active when possible by lifting weights, playing softball, power walking, running, etc. My goal is write a children's picture story book and then a novel for young children. Ideation is one of my qualities and I truly enjoy coming up with new ideas to help the youth of the world have a stronger sense of hope. My Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, scriptures (Book of Mormon, Bible, etc.) family and friends have carried me through many trials in life. Fears, anxiety, disappointments, are but a few of these trials.

Why I am a Mormon

I was adopted in my infancy by an L.D.S family. Growing up as a Mormon offered many opportunities to learn about my Savior Jesus Christ and the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By attending Primary (church classes for children), Sunday School, etc. I learned about the importance of living the kind of life that my Savior would want me to live. Although I was born in the Church, there came a time when as a teenager I had to learn for myself if the Church I was raised in was true. After all, teenagers have a mind of their own! I learned through careful scripture study and prayer, that indeed the Church was True and the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. I can honestly say, without any hesitation, that the Book of Mormon, Bible and Doctrine & Covenants have given me hope, joy and answers to my prayers. As I study the life of the prophets, from Adam to those in the new testament, from Joseph Smith to Thomas S. Monson, I know that our Heavenly Father loves us enough that he sent these Prophets of God to lead and guide us in these latter days. There are so many voices in this world clamoring for our attention, and it's comforting to know that our Heavenly Father has given us servants that are the mouthpiece of the Lord. Just as Heavenly Father blessed his Children with Prophets and Apostles, as described in the Bible, we too are blessed with Prophets and Apostles in these Latter Days. There is nothing different between ancient times and our day.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life, I've participated in Scouting and in various church callings. My religion is a huge supporter of the Scouting program and I'll be forever grateful for this. From my earlier years until now, I've earnestly strived to live according to the principles taught in scouting. I'm not perfect but I can honestly say that scouting has helped me stay on the straight and narrow. I love making friends in and outside the church. In fact, over the years, some of my closest friends have been non-members. There is so much good in this world, and I love associating with people from all walks of life that help add nuggets of faith in my life. I've truly been blessed with many friends!
