Hi I'm Tanner.

I'm a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (and loving it!).

About Me

Hi, I'm Tanner. I am a huge fan of watching summer Olympics, especially the running events, and I like distance running myself. I enjoyed Track and Field in High School, partly because it pushed me to be the best I could be, and partly because I was able to run with friends; member and non-member alike. I graduated early from high school and spent three weeks doing humanitarian work in Costa Rica, a country with people I have come to love! I like to watch movies, travel around, visit new places (in the USA and abroad!), backpack, hike, swim, canoe, horseback ride in the mountains, drive (it's therapeutic) and I enjoy reading uplifting literature. Outdoor adventures make life exciting, and add the needed thrill! I love my family, friends and those in my LDS congregation (ward). I am a Business Management Student at BYU-Idaho and I really love to learn. Currently, I'm serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission and I'm so excited to be serving the Lord in this mission! It's a great time to be alive.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because I love it. I love the good feelings I get when I have the chance to serve others and make someone's life a little better by bringing them to Christ. I'm far from perfect, but Jesus Christ IS perfect, and it's Him that I strive to follow. So, because I follow Him, I am a member of His church, and like I said before it's a good time to be alive! We are the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day saints, and it's because of Him that I'm a member, and loving every minute of it!

How I live my faith

Right now, I'm a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pennsylvania. I live my faith by sharing it with everyone I come in contact with and spend several hours a week studying the scriptures and praying to God about missionary work. It can be hard work as I take two years of my life and dedicate it to the Lord, but I'm loving every minute of it! Life is good, and so is the work!

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Tanner.
A huge part of living as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is being obedient to what we know to be right and true. We believe in daily personal and family prayer, daily personal and family scripture study, and daily acts of service to help those around us. We strive to live after the manner of happiness, despite the adversity, and trials that come to us all. Living a life free from harmful influences, and living a life filled with high moral standards set us apart from others. We live to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ and seek to share the joy found in the gospel with all those we meet. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Tanner.
As a missionary, I understand the wonderful joys that come with sharing the gospel. I've also come to understand that living as a full-time missionary is not free, but is freely given. Before my mission, I worked and saved money each month so that I could fund a 2 year mission. It's a small price to pay to represent Jesus Christ and preach the gospel to all the world. Members can also donate to the Church's Missionary Fund which helps the work move forward in spectacular ways. Show more Show less
