Hi I'm Pete

I'm an aircraft maintenance officer in the Air Force. I'm married to my best friend and have three kids.

About Me

I really enjoy making furniture out of wood, and I know I have a lot to learn. I just made my 4th set of shelves, and I think I'll have to take apart the previous set to correct some mistakes. I hate that. I'm going to school right now at Arizona State University to get a Masters in Education, with an emphasis on applied behavior analysis. I feel driven to help people individually, so I am considering becoming a counselor, but we'll see what happens if/when I leave the military.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have had too many significant spiritual events to deny the truth of the principles. When I was 16, I prayed about the truth of Joseph Smith's vision. I got such a powerful feeling I felt like I was swimming in it. I was moved beyond words, and I'm afraid that if I ever denied that experience I would be the worse type of hypocrite. I have also found that even if the principles were NOT true, they have brought me to a very good place. Whenever I follow the direction that I'm given from this church, I find that I am a better father, husband, and happier person.

How I live my faith

I'm an assistant scout master for my local troop, and I really enjoy leading my little patrol of scouts as we explore and learn together. When it comes to living my religion, I find that the most significant testimony I give is just day-to-day improvement. I think that people are surprised that I don't curse or drink. Especially as an aircraft maintainer! My language and way of life has led to a lot of great discussions with people on how my religion makes me so happy.
