Hi I'm Lucinda

I'm A Mormon! I believe in Christ. I believe in miracles!

About Me

I am a mother, although I was told I would never have children. I survived a head-on car collision. I was told I would never walk again or have use of my right hand. Today I walk AND have use of my right hand. Now that my youngest child is turning 13, I am going to college to study computer technology. I was an office manager for a psychiatrist and had a background as a business manager for a dentist, where I also learned to be a dental assistant. I am an artist, I love to read, write poetry, and love to research. Technology fascinates me. I believe all good things (including good technology) comes from God. I believe in Christ as my Savior and I believe in faith preceding the many miracles happening all around us. I am Happy!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised within a family who belonged to the church, there came a time when I had to search out the truth for myself. My mother taught me as a young child that if I prayed, my prayers would be answered as long as I had faith. I read the Book of Mormon, and all the rest of the scriptures and I prayed to know if these thing were true. I felt a warm, tingling feeling overcome me and the feeling of love for me personally. Then a heard a still small voice saying "yes, these things are true and you are loved". I had my ups and my downs in life, sometimes even a sense of complete despair. Even so, I never lost my faith and I never forgot the feeling I felt when truth was revealed to me in an answer to my prayer. I believe in Miracles!

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Most involved working with the youth, from the age of 6 months to 18 years old. I have lived in 4 different states of USA and I love people. I am a member of the Relief Society, an organization for women, and love being a visiting teacher within that organization. Charity Never Faileth!

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Faith in God means more to me than believing in Him. It means I trust Him. Because I trust Him to guide me in my life, my decisions and well, everything. I am happier because of this. Since I am a happy person, who is also confident and trusting, I know that I bring this happiness to our family. I'm more dedicated to my marriage relationship because of this trust. In the relationships with my children, I have found that they have trust in me. So, really, this makes our family stronger. Happiness is contagious. When I act towards my family out of a place of happiness, I find that it kind of catches on. Like when I smile and say good morning, instead of grumbling about morning (it's my toughest part of the day) I get that back from them. This happiness comes out of having faith, trusting God and acting upon these things. I want to be worthy of the blessings I receive from having God's guidance in my life. Sometimes it's hard when families have difficulties. But the strength we have in our family from trusting, being happy, courteous, and respectful toward one anther, binds us together with a strength that we face our difficulties and problems together from a place of love. You can't see love, only the action or results of love. I haven't seen God face to face, but I know He is there and He helps me because I do have that faith and I do live to be worthy of the strength He gives me and my family. Show more Show less
