Hi I'm Alyssa Pearl Olson

I grew up in Minnesota, I am a junior at Brigham Young University Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in college and I love sports. I play basketball and tennis in intramural leagues, and they are my favorite sports. I love hiking, swimming, and basically any outdoor activities. I love to read novels in my free time also.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents used every moment they could to teach me about the gospel. Though I always had the gospel, I took it for granted when I was younger. I did not make wise decisions about how to live my life. When I went to college, and learned more about the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ I was converted to the gospel. I saw Christ's and Havenly Father's undying love for me and everyone around me. I was able to repent from my past sins and transgressions. Once I did that, I felt the pure joy of the atonement. I am a Mormon, because I have felt the immense joy that the gospel can bring, and I have felt the love of my Father in Heaven. I want to be able to make him proud and return to him after my journey on Earth is over.

How I live my faith

I participate in church by going to fun activities with my friends at school. Our church has dinner parties, football games, talent shows, and we also share spiritual thoughts together. At school, my faith and love for others has grown through callings at church. Once a month I had the privilege to prepare an hour long lesson to teach other women in my ward. I also taught and served two girls that lived in my apartment complex through visiting teaching. Over the summer I get to help my mom teach the children in her home ward. It is amazing to see children learn about Christ's love for them.
