Hi I'm Henry E. Lay

I grew up as a Mormon and worked as an accountant my whole life in the electric industry..

About Me

I have retired from working in the electric utility business as an accountant and as part of management. I was active in both high school and college sports as part of their wrestling programs. I am a grandfather of 16 soon to be 17 grandchildren. I currently enjoy golfing and working in the yard.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church in a family that did not actively participate. I participated on occasion as my parents would permit. I have had a fundamental belief in the Church my whole life. This has been strengthened during my life through my various assignments including my mission to Ireland as a young man and as a bishop in a young ward. I have seen the priesthood of God bless the lives of those around me. I have a testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ and of the restoration of the gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith in these the last days. I know that the teachings of the Christ as presented by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will provide both joy and happiness both in this life and the world to come. .

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed serving in the Church in various callings including Bishop, the high council, stake and ward clerk positions and family history work involving vital birth/death/marriage record extraction. For the last decade, I have served in the Church education system early morning seminary program where the youth of the Church receive instruction in the scriptures as the building principal. I enjoy my assignment as a home teacher particularly in those assignments where I can perform service such as doing home repairs, etc. for single sisters in need of help.
