Hi I'm Jennifer Smith

I grew up in Kennewick, Washington, where I live today. I am a happy wife and the mother of three great children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a busy mother of three kids, ages 16, 13, and 10. Besides raising my kids and running our home, my greatest passions are reading, writing, running, serving in the church, and talking with as many interesting people as I can find (and I find that they are all interesting!) I also love to cook, entertain (ie., have tons of noisy people over, big messes allowed) and spend time with family and friends--my favorite of which are my darling husband and kiddos. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the doctrine of the Mormon church to be true. I have read the Book of Mormon many times in my life, and through study, reflection, and prayer have had its truthfulness confirmed to me. I have attended Church meetings throughout my life and served in various callings, all of which have strengthened my testimony about the organization of the Church, its teachings, and the importance of serving others as the Savior did. I have found that the words of the living Prophet and Apostles are true, and a source of guidance and comfort in my life, regardless of the circumstances I am in. I believe the Mormon Church is the Lord's true church, restored in these latter days. I feel great love and warmth in my church membership.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in the quiet actions of each day. As a member of Christ's church, I do all that I can to grow closer to Him and, ultimately, become more like Him. I seek a life of prayer, scripture study, church service and spiritual growth. I try to exemplify and nurture this growth by how I respect myself, others, and my Heavenly Father. I live my faith by striving to act as the Savior would have me act, and love as the Savior would have me love. Most importantly, I strive, always, to increase my love for Him. I also live my faith by helping others strengthen theirs. I currently serve as a leader in the Young Womens organization of our church. I love this assignment, as it allows me to help girls ages 12-18 learn who they are, why they're here, and what they can become. I help teach lessons about the gospel on Sundays, and lead youth activities for Wednesday evenings. We also participate with the girls in "fireside" chats, youth retreats, and leadership meetings. The highlight of last summer was serving as the Girls Camp Director for our group; I got to learn outdoor skills, go canoeing, plan skits, eat s'mores and get dirty with the girls. It was a blast!
