Hi I'm Shellie

I grew up in Salt Lake City, at age 16 I found out that the Church is true! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of six children and grandmother of 14. I graduated from Brigham Young University. My husband and I have been married 45 years. I love to sew and do family history. I love to travel and see historical sites.

Why I am a Mormon

I will always be grateful to my Mother for teaching me to pray, that lead me to attend many other churches. I have found many truths and good people in other religions-they love their church as much as I love mine!! As a Mormon, our church has the whole truth, brought back to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I am so grateful to feel the guidance of the Holy Ghost, to have the Priesthood in my home to bless my children, to have the opportunity to make sacred covenants with the Lord in His house-the temple. I paid the price to know the Church of Jesus Christ is true by reading His words, praying and asking Him, and putting the gospel into action. My family has been very protected and blessed by living the life our Savior has given us. I am so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ and what He has done for us and His continued guidance and help.

How I live my faith

I have grown more in faith by having callings in the church, they have helped me by putting my faith into action. Each calling in the church has helped me grow and by doing things outside my comfort zone I have been very blessed. The many blessing I have received has been increased peace and joy. I also have had the opportunity to serve in my community by helping children that are struggling learn to read. Any service we can do helps us feel closer to our Savior.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is a great blessing to our family. Do we make mistakes-yes, but we try to fix them when we realize it. Do we have hard times like other families-yes, but we feel the Lords help during hard times. We are very positive people and look for the good in others. We believe in obeying the Ten Commandments and find great joy in living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
