Hi I'm Shaun

I love philosophy, rock climbing, my friends and family, and adventure. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Shaun. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Washington. Since I was a tiny boy, I have been camping, hiking, and spending time in the outdoors of WA and other states. I've always been a curious person, always asking questions and seeking answers. Naturally, I love philosophy and reading anything I can get my hands on. I just graduated from college Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Humanities & Philosophy and plan to continue my education in law and business. I spent two years in various parts of Chile as a missionary. As a result, I am fluent in Spanish and I have grown an immense love for not only the Chilean people and culture, but also all of Latin American people and culture. I love spending time with my friends and family, and I love meeting new people with diverse perspectives of life and wisdom to share. I love to rock climb, run, and work out. I enjoy meditation, traveling, and listening to music. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being so provides me with divine meaning in life. I have faith that I will be able to live with my family, not only in this life, but in the life to come. I feel at peace with myself and with all my neighbors knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me beyond my comprehension. The teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are full of goodness, love, and mercy. I have felt in my heart and soul that these teachings are true and beautiful. They have changed me and transformed me into a much better person.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving my best to see everyone as a child of a loving Heavenly Father, each with divine potential. All people, good and bad, are children of God. I try to show my faith by serving in my community and church. I served as a missionary in Chile for two years wherein I tried to help people find hope, peace, love, and inspiration through the teachings of Jesus Christ. I have served as a teacher of young men, and an executive secretary of my ward.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Shaun
We believe that the purpose of life is ultimately to have joy. In order for us to have true joy, Heavenly Father has provided us a way to fulfillment through His son Jesus Christ. All good and true things come from Christ, whether we know it or not. As we follow Jesus Christ and his eternal teachings, we can learn to exercise our free will to choose good over evil. As we do these things, we will integrate goodness into our characters and become more god-like, and eventually, return to the presence of God with all of our loved ones by our side.
