Hi I'm Joshua

I'm a second generation sculptor, a recovering addict with over 2 years clean and sober and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a professional sculptor like my father before me. I am a divorced father of one. My daughters name is Jacey and she's my world. I enjoy basketball, hiking, fishing, video games reading and learning new things. I am a recovering addict with over 2 years clean and sober.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by Mormon parents but I didn't accept the gospel until I was in my twenties. I struggled in my teenage and my early adulthood because of addiction and depression problems which led me to be incarcerated several times. During my multiple stays in correctional facilities I read religious literature from many different faiths and ways of living. I first read The Book of Mormon when I was 16 years old and it touched me more than any other book I had read up to that point and after. I read The Book of Mormon many times over my many stays in jail. In 2008 I received a witness while I was praying that the Mormon Faith was true. I have been an active member since that day in the summer of 2008.

How I live my faith

I attend church weekly. I am the assistant ward mission leader. I help with talking to and helping less active members of the church and non members. I enjoy working with people that have addiction problems because I feel like I can relate to them. It means the world to me when I can help another with their addiction problems because many people contributed to my sobriety so I know how much it means to have help from someone with similar problems.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We don't worship Joseph Smith at all. We worship God the father and Jesus Christ, the son of God and the savior of the world. We believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord and that his work was to bring the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Show more Show less
