Hi I'm Lydia

I'm a cartographer. I'm a science fiction fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my work as a cartographer and GIS-specialist, and it's amazing what we can do with our current technology. We can dream big, and our creativity knows no bounds. I have to admit that my imagination sometimes takes me to other worlds, space ships and larger than life heroes ;) But in the end, it's the little things that I treasure most: a ray of sunshine, family, a good book, my cat asleep on my lap.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family, but as a teenager I wanted to know if what I believed in all my life was truly from God. I asked Him in sincere prayer, and I felt a personal confirmation that I had made the right choice, and that I was loved. I learned for myself that Jesus Christ suffered and died that we all might live. Studying the Book of Mormon has taught me more about why we are here on earth, and that if we are willing to turn our hearts to God, He is able to bless us, more than we can imagine. He loves us, and we never have to feel alone.

How I live my faith

On Sundays, I teach the children from age 4 to 11 about a loving Father in Heaven, who listens to our prayers, and who wants us to be happy. We talk about families, what each of us can do to make home a place of peace and love, and how kindness and service to others will bring joy in our lives. I also have the chance to play the organ during our Sunday services!
