Hi I'm Eliza

I am a college student in Utah, studying piano. I'm preparing to serve a mission in Argentina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in the middle of pursuing a bachelor's degree in Piano Performance and spend most of my time practicing my own pieces and teaching piano lessons. I have been playing the piano for around 13 years now, and have loved every minute of it. Aside from playing the piano, I also love to read any novel I can get my hands on, seeing musicals and plays in New York City and Las Vegas, skiing with my family, and watching BBC Masterpiece Theater. I am the oldest of five children in a very close family, and will miss them all dearly when I leave to serve a mission for the LDS church in Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been attending the Mormon church almost since birth, and have been blessed with parents that have always had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. I was baptized when I was eight-years-old and absolutely loved the experience, but I don't think I was truly converted to the gospel until I was older and gained a deeper understanding of the doctrine. In my teenage years, I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover and prayed sincerely to know if it was true. I hope I never forget the feeling of peace and understanding I received as an answer to that prayer. Like any human being, I have many imperfections and shortcomings, most of which I am still trying to overcome, and as I've matured and become aware of the long road ahead of me, I have only become increasingly grateful for the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and that He atoned for my sins. He has felt all of my pains and sorrows, and there have been countless times that I have relied on only Him to help my helplessness. I am a Mormon because I know that the words of the Book of Mormon were inspired of God and that they testify of Christ. He is my Savior and Redeemer and I am grateful to be a member of His church.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in my church ward as a pianist, playing prelude and hymns, however, I will be leaving in August to serve the people of Rosario, Argentina, as a Spanish-speaking missionary. I will be putting all of my schooling and extracurricular activities on hold in order to go, and am beyond excited to do so. I can't believe how blessed I have been to have the gospel in my life, and am proud to have the opportunity to share it with those who wish to hear it.
