Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a Utah native, but lived Anchorage, Alaska in the late 70's. I like to travel and hope to visit all 50 states.

About Me

I recently retired and have been busy with learning to quilt. I enjoy spending time with my family. My hobbies include cross-stitch, crochet, knitting (with a loom), other sewing, travel, reading, watching soccer, attending plays and concerts.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My testimony grew throughout the years. I have not always been an active member though. At age 33, I decided to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. From that experience I was blessed with a strong witness that it is true scripture and is a Testament of Jesus Christ and the Atonement. We have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who helps to guide us in choosing the right way to live. I know that anyone can be a better person by following the counsel we receive from him. By trying to live the gospel teachings, it helps me to be a better person. I also know that when I fall short, I can try again. I am grateful for the love and mercy provided to us by our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

An outward example of living my faith is going to Church each Sunday and partaking of the Sacrament. I try to be closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by praying and reading scriptures. I recognize that I receive many daily blessings and am thankful for them. I know that I fall short in many things, but am so grateful for a Savior who died for us and atoned for our sins. I am grateful that we are able to repent and be forgiven.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Barbara
It will take some time to study the doctrine, to read the Book of Mormon. The most important thing is to pray to our Heavenly Father and to ask for the answer. The feelings you receive from the Holy Ghost will let you know. Show more Show less
