Hi I'm Joy

I am the mother of 4 and the grandmother of soon to be 14. I live in Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a stay at home mom until my youngest child went to school and then I became a school lunch lady. I loved working in the school and interacting with the kids each day as they came to lunch. I am now retired and I love spending time with my children and soon to be 14 grandchildren. I like to travel around the country with my husband in our RV. I have a back yard pond with 3 butterfly Koi. They all have names and I am teaching them to eat out of my hand.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. I can never remember not going to church. I gained my testimony when I was in high school and read the Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. I prayed to Heavenly Father and asked Him if this Book was true and received an answer that came in the form of a sweet peaceful feeling that I felt from my head to my toes. I knew it was true and I have never doubted. When things in my life get tough, I remember that experience and how it felt and I know that even when things are hard Heavenly Father loves me and wants me to be happy.

How I live my faith

My husband and I have served on our neighborhood homeowners board for the last 3 years. I enjoy working with my neighbors to help keep our community beautiful and safe. I also serve in my ward, working with the eight year old girls. I organize activities and service projects for them to participate in. I also am a visiting teacher. I am assigned to visit three sisters in my ward. Together with a partner, we visit these sisters each month. We give a lesson about the Savior, help them with any needs they might have, and just get to know and love them. These sisters have become some of my best friends.
