Hi I'm Tyler

I'm a baker and a car guy. I was just accepted to college! And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Born in Payson, Utah, later moved to Genola, Utah, and am proud to have been a member my whole life. I have amazing parents and they are why I am who I am today. After graduating high school from Payson High School, I went to Utah Valley University (UVU in Orem, Utah). Before finishing I was called to serve the Lord as a Full-time Missionary in The Great Columbus Ohio Mission. Accepting that call was the best decision of my life! Now I'm beginning the next step in my life and will be going back to college in Salt Lake City at LDS Business College.

Why I am a Mormon

I was was blessed to be raised around the church pretty much my whole life. Though I didn't recognize it most of the time my family and I were being guided by a loving Father in Heaven the entire time. Being raised in the church doesn't mean that you don't have questions, and have to ask yourself is all of this real? I honestly and unfortunately do not remember who, but someone ask us when we were the same age as Joseph Smith, someone asked if I had done what Joseph had and brought the questions that I had to God, the source of all truth. I had been reading the Book of Mormon, going to church, and trying to live my life the best a kid could. And now was the time for me to find out for myself if all of this was real. I took the advice of the people I trusted the most and read from the scriptures, then asked God if they were true. As I took to my knees to pray and ask God "with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ" (Moroni 10:3-5) I gained a knowledge that GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS! I was expecting a huge manifestation of angels and I didn't get that. That bothered me for a while until I realized what I did feel that night and many times before and after, I felt the Spirit. It was a more then a feeling, it was a knowing that all these thing are true. God is real. He loves us, his children. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is also real. Through the Atonement, we can be free from all the pains and sorrows of this world. We can overcome that and more. All of this because of Jesus Christ. I love Him and would be lost in every way without him. And it all started with a simple prayer of faith.

How I live my faith

As of right now I am living my faith more then I ever have in my life. As a full time missionary I get to see people accept the gospel into their lives everyday. It probably sounds so backwards but it is truly such a blessing to me to be giving 2 years of my life to serve. Every choice we make in life has a consequence, be it good or bad, we had to own up to those choices. The best part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that it is all about joy. We were created to experience all the many blessing God has in store for us. I some times forget that and loose track of what is really important, but the other great thing about the gospel is that it is about change and becoming that person that Our Father in Heaven wants us to be. I love this gospel and the way it has helped me to become so much much then I ever dreamed possible.
