Hi I'm Jim Slade

I am a retired railroad engineer (Union Pacific). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired but spend a lot of time with my family and working with horses I am a a father of 3 and a grandfather of 8. Life is great!

Why I am a Mormon

I read the scriptures daily and when you read and ponder the words it's easy to see that the gospel of Jesus Christ has truly been restored. The most important thing to me is knowing our Savior Jesus Christ and His atonement. Truly our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ knows us and loves us, HIs dirsire is for us to return to Him. We can do this by following and living His commandments.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything I do. I help missionaries prepare to serve missions and am at this time going to serve a mission with my wife. I am involved with the youth and the Scouting program.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Jim Slade
As we travel through this adventure we know as life on earth we may travel many roads and sometimes along the way we may make wrong choices, when we realize this we may feel remorse and wish to correct or right the wrong. Our first step after realizing the error is to repent or ask forgiveness from our Heavenly Father and anyone who we may have wronged or offended, try to repair the damage and not repeat the action. Since we can't go back in time and erase the wrong a Savior, Jesus Christ, was provided in the beginning to take upon Him our sins. I know that we have been given many gifts, but to me personally this is one of the greatest gifts ever. Without the atoning sacrafice nothing else matters. He is our Advocate with the Father, He is our only way back, He is our Savior. Show more Show less
