Hi I'm Bradan

I marched mellophone in the 2014 Rose Parade, I like cowboy hats, I put yogurt on my waffles, I speak German, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

What do I do? I work as a sweeper at an elementary school. It's pretty cool, I guess. I was in my high school marching band for three years, and that was pretty hip. I like to draw a lot. Drawing's pretty fun. I used to draw comics all the time. I love learning languages. I'm pretty good at memorizing things, so it's easy for me to learn new languages. I've taken German for 5 years, and took Latin 1 this year. I like making films. I used to make little family films with my brother and my sister all the time growing up, and then my friend and I made movies for my school's Foreign Film Festival and won 3rd place my Junior year and 1st place the next year! I also love studying facts, just random facts that are actually kind of important. 85% of Japanese people have never tasted turkey. It's illegal to name a pig Napoleon in France. Boris Becker was a famous German pro tennis player. Fun stuff like that. I hate it when people mix up 'is' and 'are'. Bugs me so bad! Oh, hey, guess what! I'm going on an LDS 2-year mission to Poland in October. Isn't that just exciting? It's crazy to think they just came out of communism 20 years ago. Lech Wałęsa, what a guy. I also like reading. It's pretty much the coolest. My favorite book of all time is Crime and Punishment. So good! I thought it would be boring, but it's the best book! Read it. Right now. I'm almost out of characters, and I've kind of been rambling, but I think that's an accurate description of me. I'm going to make it the 1500!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church. My dad became a convert when he met my mom and I have been truly inspired by both of their courageous actions. I'm a Mormon because I couldn't imagine living my life any other way. I was very blessed to be born into this Gospel because I feel like all of the teachings of the church; especially the plan of salvation, living prophets and apostles, and the large focus on the family and the word of wisdom. I feel like the guidelines set by the church strengthen me as a person and animate my spirit. There is so much power and authority which our Heavenly Father has bestowed upon us and has given to us for the purpose of bettering our lives as well as the lives of countless others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith just by trying. Some days you just mess up really bad. Not you specifically, just people in general. Everyone has those days where nothing goes right and you just end up confused and disappointed. If you haven't had one of these days, then congratulations, *slow clap* but for those of you who do, like me, even when the world feels like it's crashing down sometimes faith is all we have, the faith that things will eventually turn out okay. Having a hope that tomorrow will be better can be one of the greatest acts of faith, taking it one day at a time to try and be better. That's what it's really all about, becoming perfect, and although none of us can reach perfection, we can always strive for it and start anew if we have enough faith in Christ and in ourselves to repent and try and do better tomorrow. Not only must we have faith, but we must act upon this faith because we truly are the masters of our own destiny. It's incredibly cliché, but very true. Trying means having the faith to believe in yourself and recognize your own abilities and how to properly use your abilities to go after the things you want in life. Through my faith in Jesus Christ and through the power of God, I can see that no matter the situation I am placed in, no matter how far down I think I've sunk, that I will always be able to find a way out. Now, I actually have never gone of the deep end. I'm actually a pretty great person, not to brag or anything, but everyone has weaknesses, and I have the ability to recognize my flaws, and I have the faith to try to be a better person each passing day.
