Hi I'm Ashlyn Kay

I am a full-time missionary of the church. I am a bit of a loon. But either way, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most call me crazy... I just call me fun. My favorite people are the ones who keep up with my tempo and put a smile on my face. I have had my fair struggles in the past and feel those are what have made me who I am today. I love to draw and be outdoors with my sisters. I especially love my Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus Christ and the opportunities, blessings, and even trials they have put in my life. I love life and the people in it. Oh, and i make weird faces. That's basically me in a nutshell.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up on learning the Gospel. Though it was not always easy to get up for church or read my scriptures, I knew from an early age that it was what i was supposed to do; not just because my parents told me to, but because I felt a deeper connection to strengthen my understanding of my purpose here on Earth and my Heavenly Father has brought me this far in knowing that. It was not always a straight shot arrow for me on this path, I had my detours and I chose to veer away. Through my experience off of the straight and narrow path I found only unhappiness and unneeded stress. I did not stand in Holy places. I was not me. From those times in my life the one thing I found to be constant, ever changing, and full of love no matter what; that was turning to my Father in Heaven and coming unto Christ. Since then I have only had the desire to be a disciple of Him and his Son and to allow others to feel the warmth I have felt. With the trials and the detours, the good and the bad, I found me. And I found true happiness that I know will never leave me as long as I am true and faithful to the covenants I have made. I love this Gospel - how can something so good, beautiful, pure, and joyful be wrong?! It is because it is not wrong. It is the truth.

How I live my faith

I am a sunday school teacher for 12 and 13 year old teenagers. Its a hoot. I love being able to relate and teach from my own experiences at their age and allow them to see the millions of opportunities we have to Come Unto Christ even at a young age. Currently, I am serving a full time mission in the LDS church in Chesapeake, Virginia. I know that my future is as only bright and as strong as my faith and I strive to bring others into that knowledge and light which I have acquired. My heart is on my sleeve and my testimony on my back.
